Crati Emergency: the fundraising campaign has concluded. Thank you all!
Today we want to pause for a moment to look back and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
On February 13, 2026, the Crati River broke its banks at various points, overwhelming the Piana di Sibari, particularly the Lattughelle and Laghi di Sibari areas. The places we know and love, transformed in just a few hours into expanses of water and mud.
An immense sorrow for our entire community.
Faced with that devastation, Visit Sibaritide APS chose not to stand by.
We launched a fundraising campaign—through bank transfer and the GoFundMe platform—because we believed our community would respond. And you responded.
The fundraising campaign has officially concluded.
Every donation, large or small, was a concrete act of solidarity toward those who lost everything: furniture, appliances, crops, memories. Thank you to those who shared the appeal, to those who donated, to those who simply kept attention focused on what was happening in our land. It is not taken for granted, and we do not take it for granted.
The work is not finished. At this time, the Municipal Administration of Cassano all’Ionio is engaged in monitoring and surveying the affected families, a delicate and essential operation to understand who needs what, and how to best direct the resources collected.
As soon as we have clear and definitive information, we will update you with complete transparency, here on the blog and on our social media channels.
Sibaritide does not give up.
Continue to follow us. The story of this emergency is not yet over, and we are here to tell it together with you.
