Digital Sibaritide: Everything is ready for Thursday, June 18, 2026
On June 18, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the Sibaritide region will gather for a strategic event at the Polifunzionale delle Grotte di Sant’Angelo in Cassano all’Ionio (CS). The initiative, titled “Digital Sibaritide: Innovating the way we tell the story of and experience the Sibaritide”, enjoys the free patronage of the Municipality of Cassano all’Ionio and the fundamental financial support of Terme Sibarite SpA.
The day will begin with a focus on discovery in the afternoon. From 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, thanks to the valuable collaboration with the Enzo dei Medici Speleo-Archaeological Research Center, participants can join free guided tours inside the Grotte di Sant’Angelo, a unique speleological treasure. At the end of the exploration, the local company Dacafood will welcome guests with a welcome coffee, offering an ideal moment of conviviality before the official opening of the proceedings.
The event was strongly supported by the Mayor of Cassano all’Ionio, Atty. Gianpaolo Iacobini, who believed from the very first moment in the ambitious project of our APS Visit Sibaritide. In his opening speech, the Mayor will emphasize the centrality of tourism for local economic development, highlighting how the enhancement of excellence such as the Caves and the thermal heritage now requires close collaboration between institutions and associations.
The entire evening will be led by moderator Elvira Sangineto, who will introduce the themes of change in contemporary tourism and the need to think as an integrated ecosystem. In this significant context, the event will welcome greetings from Msgr. Francesco Savino, Bishop of the Diocese of Cassano all’Ionio. His presence will confirm the importance of the link between territorial promotion and spiritual identity, a fundamental element for the development of ecclesiastical tourism that our Association intends to promote in close synergy with the Diocese.
The President of Visit Sibaritide APS, Dr. Paola Guaragna, will present the results of a network that already boasts the membership of over 14 local municipalities. As a web marketing specialist, with a solid background derived from a degree in Advertising, the President will explain how the beauty of a place must be transformed into a desirable destination through modern digital strategies. Together with the Digital Communication Agency, the platform www.visitsibaritide.com will be illustrated—an innovative portal designed with a particular focus on digital accessibility, ensuring that the narrative of the territory is truly inclusive and accessible to everyone.
The debate will get to the heart of the matter with a series of contributions that will shape the future of our territory. The first to speak will be Ludovico Noia, an art historian, who will delve into the theme of ecclesiastical tourism and religious paths, illustrating the identity-based vision developed in collaboration with the Diocese of Cassano all’Ionio. Immediately after, the stage will be taken by Elisabeth d’Elia, President of the ethno-musical research group Shpirti Arbëresh, traditional tailor, and gold embroiderer, who will speak about the richness of Arbëreshë Culture and the importance of identity traditions as a unique attraction.
The program will continue with a contribution from the Sole Director of Terme Sibarite S.p.A., Gaetano Garofalo, focused on territorial well-being as a fundamental driver for the seasonal adjustment of tourism. Cesar Manuel Cirolia, Digital Strategist and co-founder of the Association, will then analyze territorial communication, explaining how storytelling and digital reputation guide the choice of a destination today. Christian Zuin, Founder of Visit Reggio Calabria, will share his experience on new hospitality models and integrated tourism, while Bruno Strati, Revenue Manager, will delve into themes of shared development and revenue management, exploring the prospects offered by artificial intelligence for the local economy.
The speakers’ block will conclude with a speech by Dr. Antonio Basile, Founder of the Association and Owner of the Digital Communication Agency, the agency that gave life to the Visit Sibaritide project, who will trace the path from vision to concrete opportunities, emphasizing the importance of project continuity. Finally, the international connection with Olaf Bello, European Projects & International Cooperation Expert, will project the Sibaritide towards Europe, illustrating how to access European Union networks and funding to build paths of shared growth.
The event will close with a territorial networking session, where it will be possible to participate in a tasting of typical products offered by local excellences: specialties from Magisa, products from Caseificio Perri, delicacies from Sybaris Terra Mia, figs from Rango, baked goods from Panificio Stella, the unique taste of Clemì, Amaro Calabrisella, Limoni Di Leo, and oil from Oleificio Lesce.
We look forward to seeing you there to build together a modern Sibaritide that is connected and accessible to all.
